Edward and Bella: A Lifetime 4.2

Wedding day:

“A car dealership, duh. Really Bella. Where did you think cars came from? The stork?” She rolled her eyes and kept going on, “Do you like it Bella? I can get another one in a different color if you don’t.”

I stared in awe at the midnight blue Ferrari. It was beautiful. The color was exactly the same color Edward loved me in. I thought it couldn’t get any prettier until a beam of light, like from the heavens, hit it. The color suddenly changed to a magnificent royal blue. Was that even possible? Could there be a car this gorgeous? I didn’t even know Ferraris came in blue. The only down side was the thought of someone spending money on me.

“Edward didn’t buy this did he?” I asked. I hated it when he bought me stuff.

“No I did.” She smoothly replied. “…using his credit card.” I pinched the bridge of my nose and closed my eyes. Edward always did this when he was upset, and it always seems that it helped him. I sighed and opened my eyes.

“Well, the deed is done now. And it’s really to beautiful to return, so I guess I’m going to keep it,” I said with a smile. Alice jumped up and down and hugged me.

“Omigosh,” she looked at her designer watch. “I have to get you to the house before Esme starts freaking out.”

We walked over to my new car, and Alice threw the keys to me. I started the car, and I found myself loving the sound of the engine purr. I sped off onto the street towards my future home. I have no idea how the thrill of going one hundred miles per hour used to scare me. Now that I had this car everything was different.

As soon as I cut off the engine Alice picked me up out of the car and ran me to her huge bathroom.

“You know, Alice, I can walk.” I said through my teeth. I didn’t like it when people other than Edward carried me.

“I didn’t want to take the chance of letting him see you. The groom isn’t allowed to see the bride ‘til she is walking down the isle, you know that silly.” She said with her cheeky grin. I rolled my eyes, then quickly shut them when I saw her start picking up her beauty supplies.

Alice did my make-up and hair for about an hour or so. I was starting to feel insulted. I didn’t think I was ugly, just normal looking. Why did she need this much time to do my make-up? Am I ugly? I was starting to freak out.

“Bella, relax. No you’re not ugly,” she said guessing my thoughts, most likely from the expression on my face. “I’m just doing this to make you even more pretty. It’s really not much. It’s just taking forever. And… I’m done!” she squealed, finishing up. She turned the chair around and I saw my face.

I was gorgeous. No I’m not just saying that. It I had ever been beautiful in my life it was now. Alice had done my hair in lose curls that gently draped over my shoulder. My make-up really was simple, as Alice had said. She used very simple colors to bring out my natural features. I couldn’t somehow believe it was me, though I knew it was.

“Alice,” I whispered.

“Hmmm?”

“Who is that? She’s beautiful. Is she related to Rosalie?” I was still whispering. She broke into a roar of laughter. Apparently it was just too funny because she couldn’t keep herself up after awhile, and she collapsed on the floor. Eventually she pulled herself together and answered my question.

“She will be really soon.” She giggled.

“Bella, breathe,” Charlie was trying to calm me down. His voice was rough. I knew he was forcing it to be like this, so he wouldn’t start crying. I started breathing like I was in labor. He rolled his eyes, “like a normal person, Bella.” I calmed down- thanks to Jasper- and looked at my dad.

“I love you daddy.” I hugged him closely.

“I love you too Bells.” His voice was even rougher than before. I giggled and beamed at my father. This would be the last day I saw him. I tried to force back tears, knowing Alice would kill me if I ruined my make-up. I heard organ music start to play. I took a deep breath, took my fathers arm, and started to walk.

I gasped as I looked at the altar. There he was. My knight in shining armor. My love for all eternity. My Edward. Of course he looked drop dead gorgeous in his tux. His hair was messy, but perfect at the same time. I loved it like that, but I loved everything about him.

Halfway down the isle I became confident that I wasn’t going to trip. I decided to smile at all my guest. I looked to my left, and saw all the beaming guest, I smiled at them very gently. Then I did the same to my right. When I was turning my head forward again I tripped. Did you expect anything else from me? I almost went down but Charlie caught me in time. I looked at Edward, and he looked like he was about to come down and carry me the rest of the way up. I smiled timidly at him, so he would relax as I knew he would.

Everything went by so fast after that. I barely remember Edward saying ‘I do’ until I realized it was my turn. I only caught the end of what the preacher was saying.

“… do you?”

“I do,” I said it with such confidence; this is exactly what I wanted. Edward’s smile was so big and bright. I couldn’t help but smile back. Again I only caught the end of what the preacher said.

“…kiss the bride.” Edward leaned in and we kissed for what seemed like forever. I had totally forgotten about the other people, until I heard a small, “get a room,” coming from the direction where Emmett was standing.

“We will.” I challenged, and Edwards smile grew more pronounced.

~

The reception was wonderful. I felt my jaw drop when Edward and I walked in. Edward chuckled beside me.

“What did you expect? Alice planned it, you know how she likes to go all out.” I just smiled in response.

We talked to everybody there. It seemed to take forever. Did Alice invite the whole town? Then I grimaced knowing that she probably did. Edward and I danced the first dance, and shoved cake into each other face. He went to the bathroom twenty minutes later to throw it back up though. I just stood next to him and stroked his flawless face while he ‘up-chucked’.

“Are you ready to go, darling?” my now husband asked, wrapping his arms around my face.

“One moment, I-I just have to say g-goodbye.” I was going to cry. The tears were starting to form.

“Shhhh,” he soothed me, “it will al be alright. You’ll see. I love you.” He said kissing me on the cheek.

“I love you too.” We walked over to where Renée and Charlie were standing. “Ok, Mom, Dad we’re heading off to the airport.”

“Oh! Bye Bella! Sweetheart I’m so proud of you! I love you so much! I hope you two have a good honeymoon.” Renée and Charlie said in unison. Oh god. I thought I told them that we were ‘moving’ right after the honeymoon.

“Mom, Dad I thought I told you this. Um well Edward and our family are moving to Alaska after the honeymoon they are already packed and everything. So this is kinda goodbye, for a while.” I felt terrible. Edward rubbed my back.

“Oh,” Charlie was startled, Renée was fine. “Well then Bells. Have a good life, and I love you so much. I’ll see you within a few months though right?” I nodded, though on the inside I was screaming. Edward knew I couldn’t take much more and intervened.

“Charlie, Renée, I’m terribly sorry but we have to get going if we want to catch our flight.” Both nodded, and came over. Renée gave me a long hug and a kiss on the cheek. Charlie was using his rough voice again and hugged me hard and long.

“Bye, baby.” He said tears glistening in his eyes.

“Bye, daddy.” I replied tears in my eyes as well.

Edward led me out to the car after that and buckled me in. The whole way to the airport he held my hand. I looked out the window most of the time. Occasionally I would steal a look at my love and smile. I looked at him, only letting a single tear roll down my face.
